Colored Filter Glass

Our colored filter glass compositions are engineered to transmit or absorb light across the radiant spectrum. These glasses are ideal for a wide variety of applications, including those for medical and scientific, advanced manufacturing, energy, aerospace, transportation, defense, life science, industrial equipment, and lighting industries.

Our filter glass compositions can be molded into complex forms that are traditionally difficult and expensive to achieve through fabricating. They’re also available as 6.5” squares of filter glass, which can be finished to exacting thicknesses and manufactured into a variety of shapes.

Our ultraviolet (UV) bandpass glasses are engineered to exhibit high transmittance in the UV-A, UV-B, or UV-C regions. These filters appear nearly black as they absorb almost all visible radiation but actually provide high transmission in the UV wavelengths of light. They are the preferred material for a wide range of applications, such as non-destructive testing equipment, tanning and phototherapy devices, forensic detection and analysis equipment, and theatrical lighting. We have filters that are tailored to industry applications with many of our glasses targeting high transmission at 254 nm and 365 nm.

Our ultraviolet (UV) longpass glasses feature high transmission across the UV and visible spectrum with tailored transmission cut-offs ranging from 240 nm to 400 nm. Their high transmission in the visible region provides the glass with a clear, colorless appearance and tint.  In many applications, such as in UV curing, high transmission is necessary to increase throughput and improve quality. These glasses have been designed to meet common industry requirements, but we also have the capability to customize compositions for emerging technologies and applications.
