Glass lenses and filters used for medical instrument lighting and dental lighting applications are made from visible transmitting / infrared absorbing (heat absorbing) glass. The glass allows for maximum light transmission while minimizing the heat projected from the light source. This glass is also color correcting in that it changes the color temperature of the emitting light. These designs also consider transmission and mounting requirements and meet industry and UL standards.
